Anthony Scism – Photographer, Educator, Storyteller

Anthony Scism is a photographer with nearly four decades of experience behind the camera, beginning his journey in 1986 with film SLRs and evolving into a hybrid shooter working across film and cutting-edge digital systems. His work spans fine art, still life, portraiture, events, and weddings, using everything from Leica M bodies and Hasselblad medium format to vintage film cameras.

Through his Foundations of Photography series, Anthony teaches photographers how to truly understand light, lenses, composition, focus, and color — not just how to push buttons. His approach blends classic photographic craft with modern tools, emphasizing intention, technical mastery, and creative voice.

Based in Florida, Anthony is also preparing a long-term visual project documenting the beaches and wildlife of Ponce de Leon Island, and he continues to mentor photographers who want to move beyond snapshots into meaningful, expressive image-making.
